Where we came from, where we’re going!

Vision For A Better Living, Inc had its beginnings as Success B. Big, Inc in 2000, founded by Ms Joanne Patterson. Her mission was to feed, clothed, and shelter the poor in and around the Washington, DC metro area. Ms Patterson did so for eight years until her health became a concern. As 2008 came to a close she had to close her assisted living house to battle her illness. In February of 2009 Mr. Charles A. McFarland was named Vice President with plans to move the organization forward and to expand the targeted audience to include our youth, the elderly, our military and their families, as well as the poor.

In November, 2009 “Vision For A Better Living, Inc was adopted as our new name because it encompasses what our new mission is all about. We’re offering free programs in such areas as;

1) Job skills

2) Education

3) Health and wellness

4) Finances

At the same time Ms Patterson decided to step down as President to focus on her health, at which time Mr. Charles A. McFarland was named President, Miss Kristie Walton named Sectary, and Mr. Kevin Mack, CPA as Treasurer.

The up coming year, 2010 will be our “New Beginning”, a new name, new leadership, and a deeper and broader mission to help our communities of the Washington, DC metro area to have a “Vision for a Better Living”!!
